So happy we decided to give this bar a try. We were walking back to our car when we heard the music coming from the upstairs patio and we said we'd have 1 drink here. You walk in and there's this dark, grungy, artsy feel to the place.. You walk upstairs and there is this huge open area and tons of seating around it so it never felt crowded. Also an upstairs bar.
GUYS, let me tell you.. I had the time of my life here! The DJ played cumbias/techno mix all night. Everyone was dancing and the best part of it all was that the people were all so different. All kinds of ethnicities, skin colors, backgrounds.. and everyone was vibing off one another. No judgement passed. The energy of this place is something I could never forget. My boyfriend is not a dancer AT ALL, and he worked up the courage to join the fun. I danced all night.. alone, with him, with strangers, with groups of people hyping me up, and I forgot that we were only suppose to have 1 drink and leave.
If you are in Deep Ellum area, make a stop here and have "1 drink" like we did. You will not regret it! -

Ive been going to wits for years and never had a problem. Recently I was sexually assaulted by the white door lady. She was visibly intoxicated, grabbed my head and kissed me unwillingly for 10 or so seconds.
The manager saw this happen and the owners know about it. They don't care about sexual assault in their bar and said she wouldn't be fired because "she's reliable". -

I went back in June. I was visiting my gf in Texas because i live in New York. I've been here once before but this time when i went to show my VALID REAL NEW YORK ID the bouncer looked at me and said he cant accept it because he "just can't take it" i said why..I'm visiting and he says "I've seen 100 New York IDs" clearly he hasn't nd i don't know why he was hired if he can't tell a real is from a fake....this is how you treat visitors??? Disrespectful. Fire the red head with glasses. Hire someone who can actually do the job. Maybe if i had a fake Texas ID he would have let me in. I'm 27 years old i don't need a damn fake!!!

It's lit in here. Great DJs and a big dance floor. Drinks are awesome. They have tables to sit and lots of seats at the bar. We spent our whole time dancing.

Pretty dope bar with the grunge aesthetic. My favorite spot is the roof top which is warm even in winter thanks to many heat lamps. I didn't try their drink specials since I had a beer but many of the offerings were approved by my friends. Music here is great too.
